I went through effective and powerful presentation class with Mr Abdullah and Madam Rusilawati Kamarudin. In this class we go through how to do a best and effective presentation and howto atrract the audience. Today, I want to share with you some principles of powerful presentation:

  1. People are overwhelmed with information.
  2. People have short attention and retention spans.
  3. Skilful presentation is not the same as public speaking.
  4. The purpose of the presentation is to persuade.
  5. The audience's perception is more important than the presenter's perception.
  6. Presentation must be memorable, meaningful, activating and catch attention.
Based on these principles, we know that we should giving information to the audience in catchy mood and be able to memorize by the audience. Therefore sometimes we need to repeat our stand and facts in order to get the audience as the audience maybe forgot as people has a short retention spans. One is need to bear in mind where presentation and public speaking is not the same. why I said so? This is because Presenting is more on audience oriented while public speaking more on speaker oriented. Presentation need more audience involvement, we do not it become one way of communication. Some presentation meed to be in soft tone and some need in high tone based on the topic as we want to persuade the audience. Last but not least, the presentation need to be meaningful and activating..Some of the presenter love to add quotes in order to make the presentation more memorable and meaningful...Okay, hope we have learn something new today...Be practice in order to get your presentation more memorable and practice practice and practice...bye...
